Refuel!
After an endless trek from the train station, we finally found our hotel. Just enough time for our first cup of coffee. Ah real italian cappucino! |
Monterosso
1st of the 5 villages. We stepped out of the train station into this spectacular vista! |
Nude beach?
Monterosso has the only sandy beach in Cinque Terre. It was baguio weather for us pinoys, but the europeans were in skimpy bikinis. |
Narrow Streets
Finding pretty narrow streets is my absolute favorite thing to do when traveling in Europe |
Focaccerio Il Frontoio
Some locals say this small resto sells the best focaccia in the region. |
Cheap lunch
We were able to find a nearby bench for a mini picnic. |
Piazza Marconi
Next village was Vernazza, claimed to be the prettiest village because... |
Wow!
...of this view! |
Bar Barretto
We found this small cosy bar that bears our name |
Stairway to Heaven
To get to the next village, Corniglia, we had to climb more than 300 steps! |
Breather
But the climb did afford great views |
Trekking it
Instead of taking the train to the next village, we decided to hoof it. The guidebook said it was an easy hike, but it was a rocky cliffside path with scary hanging bridges. |
Via dell'Amore
The path to the next village was aptly named Lover's Lane. Romantic strolls were indeed more possible with actual concrete pavement, railings and shaded walkways. |
Just another vista
The path even had handy benches which allowed us to take pictures |
