The Festas de Sao Jaoa (Fiesta of St. John) lured us to explore the land of the original explorers. First stop was the city of Porto, home of Port wine, for the biggest street party we have ever seen. Next city was the capital of Lisbon, the San Francisco of Europe. We had enough time for a side trip to Sintra, a vacation town equivalent to Baguio. And the cheapest flight back to the UK was at our last stop, the resort town of Faro.
